Bluegrass - A good pre-season source of live game action and state-wide competition. Appears to be well liked by many schools. I question whether it's worth the risk of injury before the real season begins. And the heat often just adds to the aggression on the field. I'd be OK sticking with Soccerama and moving into the season and seek a couple of "down state" tournaments.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but there were alot of NKY teams playing on Sunday at Bluegrass. The ones I noticed are Campbell County, Brossart had 2, St henry had 2, Boone, and Villa.
I think Campbell Cty and St henry won Gold in their brackets.
Any other observances or teams I missed?

St. Henry beat 2 Louisville and 2 Lexington teams on it's way to winning gold in very demanding conditions heat wise. Real good defense with some new weapons on offense. Very deep player roster with many substitutions to keep players fresh.

Ryle, and Holy Cross. Thought I saw Cov Cath. Don't know how they did and can't find results.
Any word on Highlands?

Both Holy Cross and Ryle played on Sunday. HC played on same field right before Boone. Ryle played at the same time as Boone (but it might have been a JV team). HC lost their first game -- don't know about the second. Don't know about Ryle, but I think they lost.
Boone lost both. Went to PK's in last game.

After watching a few of the games, I will not be suprised to see Brossart, St. Henry, and Cambel in the top 25 sometime soon. They all played very, very well from what I saw. Did anyone see or hear how scott did?

Scott tied their 1st (0-0 I think), don't know about the 2nd, but they did not play Sunday. They were missing a few players -- at least one starter.

Scott did not have Alec and struggled to score. Holy Cross lost 5-0 to North Hardin. Brossert beat Lex. Cath. with a goal in the last minute of the game for the bronze. Villa lost bronze on a shootout. Look out for Martha lane Collins HS they won gold easily and were very skilled. The coach said they had 14 seniors come over from Shelby county when they built the new school.

Holy Cross won bronze. Struggled to score, but all in all not bad. PS the game they lost 5-0 they had 2 own goals and the last one was given up in the last minute.

I dont think Ryle played Sunday. I heard their Varsity Squad lost 1-0 and 1-0, and their JV Squad lost both games big.
If you dont win a game, how do you play Sunday?

I don't know how you play, but they did. One of their teams was there. They played at field 5 at the same time as Boone was on field 8. As I said it might have been JV. I walked past them on the way to the concessions. I recognized one of the players who will be in the 9th grade this year -- again, it may have been JV.
They did have 2 varsity and one JV team participating.
All in all, it seemed to be a pretty good weekend for N. Ky. Saw a lot of local teams with good younger talent.

st henry did very well this weekend. i wouldnt be surprised if we see them in the top 25 by the end of the year. forward luke dehner had a tourny high 6 goals and zach barnett added speed up top. also, midfield play from jesse zilio and ryan janzen were very strong in there way to the gold. watch out for the crusaders this season

St Henry had 3 teams in Lexington. Varsity won gold. JV did not play on Sunday, but showed well in a Varsity bracket. And the Freshman team finished 4th in a JV bracket. All in all, a pretty good showing by the CRU.
